For instance did you know that half the time we communicate through body language instead of actually utilizing speech? The fact is that human behavior is so complex it is hard to decide how people actually desire to communicate. You see there are many things one cannot say due to social restrictions; however feelings about situations or decisions can be gathered through various cues.

Truth be told when it comes to non verbal communication what you need to know is to get a hold of your emotions. In other words you must learn how to master all your emotions. This especially is vital in a corporate scenario. For instance if you were to take a hypothetical example where the CEO of the company says that your immediate boss whom you are close to is going to be replaced with someone else, what would you reaction be? Ideally you may appear enthusiastic but you may offer some cues via non verbal communication that you are antagonistic about that particular decision.

This is precisely why you should practice in order to take hold of your emotions. Ignoring and letting you true emotions show could be in fact detrimental. You see in order to master your non verbal communication behavior, the ideal thing you should do is to change the way you perceive things. The way to do that is to simply be pragmatic in your thinking pattern. The best way to do that is to disassociate yourself emotionally from most things when it comes to the corporate world. That would be part of the solution.

Non verbal communication can also be a great thing. Ideally what is does is give you an indication of how people around feel and how they would react to certain things. That type of knowledge is vital when it comes to understanding individuals. You must remember though that non verbal communication is somewhat of an art form which needs to be thoroughly understood. Sometimes one can easily misunderstand someone else’s cues if you are not too knowledgeable in this science of sorts. All in all this is a learning experience, the more you associate people and interact with them the easier it will be for you to understand how and why they behave the way they do.
